A fair amount of photoshop manipulation to these two photographs. While rather pleased with the final result they won’t really stand up to too much scrutiny at large sizes (especially the silhouetted tree image which suffers from very noticeable chromatic aberration) but at these ‘web sizes’ work well I feel. Both taken from the Barberani estate in Umbria, Italy while on a short visit there as part of a trip organised for the International Wine Tourism Conference 2012, held in Perugia, Italy.

I like them both. I often wonder why we don’t abstract them more? They both work well at this size and possibly bigger, but push the limits a bit. The CB can maybe work for you if you push it to abstract.

Love the vineyard shot, wonderful composition. Would love that on my wall.

    Cheers,

So many people are very anti-photoshop manipulation which is a shame. One of my sunset shots was dismissed with a derogatory “photoshopped” comment once (when actually it wasn’t). The fact that photographs have been tweaked and changed since the processes invention seems to pass people by. I’m all for it if it enhances a mood or imparts a feeling, an impression and so on,

I agree wholeheartedly. That said, it is magic that 1 in 1000th time when you snap one that doesn’t need help!
