Morning Walk

By In Wallingford and Oxfordshire
I was cold. Having been down by the side of the Thames for the best part of two hours, with the mist swirling around, I was ready to go home. The sun was pretty much ‘up’, at least above the horizon and the glorious sunrise of yesterday (which I caught a glimpse of squinting through the curtains and cursing that I wasn’t out with the camera) didn’t happen. The camera I removed from the tripod, I heard a dog bark and looking up spotted this other early riser. A very hasty snap and she had moved on, past the point where the sun was behind her. I took a couple more shots as the dog came into view but they weren’t as good compositionally. But this one, with minimal work in photoshop resulted.

Ten minutes ago I uploaded it to 500px; its garnered quite a few fave votes and, perhaps more importantly, some requests to buy! Well worth the 5am start I moaned about on twitter…
