I could very well have just rolled over and gone back to sleep, but for some reason the words of Emily Troutman emerged though the slight-hangover haze – “I am a Photographer”! So I got up just as the sun did.

There wasn’t the fog I was hoping for. Frost certainly, it was at least 2 below. And the cycle ride to my planned spot (a field out towards Brightwell) failed to inspire (I was hoping for frosty, white tress surrounded by mists). Around the by-pass to the Thames thought I and the flooded fields seen earlier in the week.

These photographs are the result. The water has dropped over the last few days but still leaves the fields and pathways pretty much impassable. The light was wonderful but didn’t last long.
